Discover the back roads, past ancient villages en route to the medieval castle of Bazoches which was the residence of Marshal Vauban the founder of the civil engineering. Bazoches built in the 12C where kings Philippe Auguste & Richard the Lionheart have been staying during their trip for the third cruisade. You will then go to the great basilica Sainte Marie Madeleine in Vezelay founded in 864 rises on a rock from a deep valley, a Unesco world heritage site as well as a major pilgrimage place since the middle age . Continue with Chablis which is the northernmost of the great Burgundian vineyards, an old stone village with one overwhelming interest: the fragrant white wine mainly Chardonnay variety. You will have a wine tasting in the Laroche estate one of the oldest cellar of this area before returning to Paris 100 miles distant from Chablis.
